Server suggested the blood orange IPA from Latitude 33, and boy am I a fan. Nice cold draft; simple things like clean cold glasses and lines makes this a go to place for drafts for me.
Pizza was pretty good; the big slice was a little too big for me, but that's not a problem. I'm used to paying the same price for a slice for something that's a third of the size, so it's definitely a good value. -

Is and always will be 3 stars it appears after many years. You won't be disappointed if you know what to expect ahead of your visit. Many places around town serve slices that you choose from a glass case, similar to a donut shop. Not here. You will not see what you're getting, the slices are off a 30" cheese pie back by the oven. If you want toppings, they just throw them on top and the price increases drastically. If I ever do get a slice, it's only cheese.
My daughter and I have been coming for years but only before Memorial Day and after Labor Day. Reason? This is when the weekday specials are on. The deals go away during the summer months, when they have no reason to offer any. The convenient location has no problem attracting vacationers. We have gone several months between visits and somehow I am remembered as customer. Unforgettable...
Two of my nephews did the pizza challenge, finished it all, and their photo is permanently displayed on the wall!
The one time I ordered the burger had me thinking they should be a burger place instead! It was definitely better than any of the slices I've had here. I must note that it is obvious the owner won't spend a dime remodeling or modernizing the place. It has looked the same for at least 10+ years. -

I really WANT to like this place and have held off on reviewing it. Let's start with the positive - this is probably your best bet for decent traditional pizza in Pacific Beach. (For gourmet style, Mr. Moto wins.) There are a lot of options, but most are disappointing by NY pizza standards. The big selling point here are the large slices. The crust could use a bit of salt, the sauce is kinda meh, and the cheese isn't very flavorful. It's typically slightly overcooked and costs $7+ for a slice but rest assured that it's a full meal given that it's cut from a 30" pie.
When I went in 2 days ago, I ordered at the counter. I told them I wanted to sit at the bar to have a slice; the patio was already closed. It's noisy inside, even with my Bose noise-cancelling headphones. I made sure I told them I wanted to eat in given that there are a lot of aggressive signs yelling at people in advance if they desire to eat their to-go order in the place. There are also a lot of other aggressive signs outside screaming that you may only park a scooter or bike in the designated area while in the store. I get the need for some signage, but the signs forebode the manager's rude attitude. My order was placed, and I sipped a water while waiting for my slice. They called it at the pickup window, and I was confused that it was being served in a pizza box. I went over to the bar.
"Hun," the slovenly manager condescendingly said. "You can't eat that at the bar," she said, gesturing to the sign. I clapped back, "Well, I ordered it for here and told them I'd be sitting here at the bar. So I'm going to sit and eat it here." She did not apologize. She awkwardly prepared a salad while I was forced to stare at her cleavage and flesh-colored bra for the duration of my meal. (I'm mostly into dudes, by the way.) I get she has a tough job, and she handled a homeless man's wandering into the place very well. But she never cracked a smile, and although I look 20, I'm a 33 year-old doctor, and there's no faster way to get under my skin than to call me "hun" after I've tried to follow the protocol and avoid conflict. She didn't say bye, and she didn't say thanks for coming in. She didn't greet any of the other patrons with a smile. It wasn't particularly busy, and they weren't understaffed. Maybe I caught her on a bad day, but I'll continue my quest for decent pizza in PB elsewhere. -

This is between a 2-3 star; it was basic pizza slice at its best. It did have the gimmick of being a big slice, but that's it.
I'll give an extra star due to my friendly server and the good happy hour, which was $1.75 half slices and cheap beer.
Stop for HH and see what you think.... -

Tried the Grilled Salmon & fettuccine in lobster sauce and it was incredible! The salmon was perfectly grilled. It was juicy and flavorful. The fettuccine in lobster sauce was also perfect and was not overpowering the flavor of the salmon. Portion size was also very generous. I shared it with my partner. It came with garlic bread and a side of salad (or other side options like fries or soup). Staff was also very friendly and accommodating :)
